To coincide with the conference on the theme of gardens in cinema, scheduled for 31 January 2024 at the Bibliothèque Nationale du Luxembourg, we have put together a small collection for you! We've put together a selection of films in which the garden plays an important role. It can be a backdrop for the action, representing a state of mind for the characters (openness, calm or solitude, for example). It can also have a particular meaning for the characters and be a real issue. We have also added films that feature gardens in a number of ways: the garden in the city, between man and nature; composting, a practice that is becoming increasingly common in our gardens; the garden as a poetic object; and the insects in our gardens in a lovely film for children!
