Hannes discovers a strange gray, disheveled, sad-looking bird in Bumfidel's shop. Apparently this is a rare rainbow bird, he learns of Mrs. Bumfidel, but because he is so ugly and never sings, nobody wants to buy him. Hannes is sorry for the bird and he wants to free him from his cage. But he lacks the money. So, Bumfidel offers a trade.
