Morricone Conducts Morricone

Music, Germany 2004

A genuine première and, over and above that, starring one of the biggest motion picture composer of the 20th century: Ennio Morricone (1928-2020). Morricone is well-known to moviegoers, his soundtracks are invariably warmly melodic and superbly suited to the films they grace. The program contains a representative sample of his rich creative output and features a selection of his most famous film music including „Il Buono, il brutto e il cattivo” („The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”), „C’era una volta il West” („Once Upon a Time in the West”), „Giu la testa” („A Fistful of Dynamite”), „C’era una volta in America” („Once Upon a Time in America”, „The Mission”, „Cinema Paradiso”, „The Life and Death of Richard III”, „Investigation Of A Citizen Under Suspicion”, „The Untouchables” and lots more, including short film clips. Morricone conducts the Bavarian Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in 2004 at the Gasteig, Munich. With soprano Susanna Rigacci, Gilda Buttà on piano and Ulrich Herkenhoff on panpipes.
