Ateliers urbains : Flagey

Everyday life/Society, Belgium 2010

In 2010, residents exchange glances in a square, the largest in Brussels, which has just been given a facelift after 6 years of construction work. A film with several voices that takes the form of audio and visual chronicles of a neighborhood in the midst of change. We stroll to the rhythm of fado, between a large hole, water, statues and cafés, a vacuum cleaner and an umbrella... We meet a developer, an advertising screen and other invaders of public space... This first episode of Ateliers Urbains, “Flagey”, was produced by a group of a dozen of Brussels residents, most of whom live or work in the vicinity of Place Flagey.
