"E stoarkt Stéck Minett - 100 Joer Jeunesse Esch" looks back at the milestones of the 100-year history of the legendary football club la Jeunesse d'Esch-sur-Alzette. With images of the 27 championships and cups won during the last 100 years, the impressive record of this ambassador of Luxembourg sport is reviewed, including the saga of the European cups (Real, Liverpool, Bayern, Juventus,...). But the film is above all about a new look at football, an indisputable national sport that owes its enormous popular and unifying success to multiple factors in contemporary society. First of all, industrialization and immigration: from the very beginning in 1907, the club was mainly composed of young workers and employees, Luxembourgers and foreigners, many of them of Italian origin. This documentary shows how the national and international socio-economic context is reflected in the life of the AS Jeunesse d'Esch team, but it also examines the reasons why this club and its stadium have become the flagship, not only of a working-class district, but of an entire industrial metropolis, Esch-sur-Alzette.
